I started my own healing journey in earnest when I got sober in 2017. Up until then, I had attempted to use the vision I knew I had, but something was always getting in the way … I would say the things I knew, in my soul, to be true, only to have the people/places/things I shared my wisdom with, come back & bite me in the A$$! I eventually learned (or at least so I thought) that keeping my mouth shut was the best option … and that the only time I could say what was truly in my heart, was when I was singing & performing on stage. It was during my first year of sobriety I decided to finally work with the deck of Tarot cards that had come to me (rather unceremoniously, I might add), along with some jewelry, photos & books, in a box full of my deceased paternal Grandmother Virgina’s things. I started to learn the cards by reading the book that was in that same box. Some of what I read was starting to gel in my mind, but the information was clouded. I almost gave up on the cards & put them away for a while.  And then one night … in a moment I cannot truly explain, while going through. Period of intense turmoil & difficulty, I laid out a spread for myself, and …. BAM! EVERYTHING made sense. It was almost like Grandma Virginia decided to give me a direct download. I suddenly had all the information around the cards I needed … it was Divinely placed directly into my being.  I certainly needed more time to embody all that I was beginning to understand, but I started to offer readings to close friends, and a gorgeous group of women I attended a yoga retreat with (and who I’ve continued to read for ever since!).  In that same year, 2017, I released my most professional & well crafted album as a solo artist, and I continued to plow through any obstacles to making music & singing my full time career … after all … the stage was the only place I was valuable, worthy, and able to share my voice & my soul (remember that?).  Fast forward to the end of 2019, and after several years of near constant touring & gigging, I had no money, no place to live, and no more desire to continue the rat race that I was living. I decided to take a break … and lo and behold … we ended up just a few months later with a global pandemic & live music venues being shuttered for the foreseeable future.  ​It was in 2020 that, while resting & with lots of time for soul-searching, meditation & the like, I truly came into my own as a guide and reader. I honed my skill by being still, silent & meditating on the cards while I was home alone in the tiny apartment I had managed to afford, and by reading for anyone who asked.  It was during the pandemic, in stillness, that I began to own the vision I knew I had.  In the middle of 2021, I moved to New Orleans, a city that had been calling my name for years. I worked reading Tarot in a metaphysical shop there, and also allowed myself to marinate in the storied history, culture & incredible juju of New Orleans itself. I explored Voodoo Shops,  temples, & other readers of every kind. Soon after the move, I found a spiritual home as an initiate of an ancestral veneration practice. After my first initiation ceremony, I experienced a massive shift in energy & consciousness. It was at this point I began to really embody the knowingness of the ancestral gift I have been given. As a 3rd Generation Tarot reader (I read with my paternal Grandmother Virgina’s Rider-Waite- Smith deck), an initiated (Lukumí) Santera (full disclosure: I have not been crowned yet), and a 2/4 Human Design Self-Projected Projector, I am now fully aware that I am here to be a guide. I was even told (in a deep-dive Human Design chart reading) that because of my design, “the Universe literally speaks through you when you speak out loud.”  ​I will be the first one to tell you, I am not a Guru of any sorts. I am simply a guide and messenger. The gift I have been given is the gift of sight, the gift of understanding & also of assimilating & organizing vast amounts of information from various energetic & material sources very quickly. These gifts live in me, however, I am painfully aware, that if I don’t maintain & use them, just like my voice, they can be taken from me at any time. This is why I know I am just the messenger. While, I believe that we all have a direct connection to Source any time we wish, sometimes, in our human-ness we forget this. We forget that we are made of the same stuff as the cosmos & that we can call upon those energies, along with those of our Spirit Guides & Ancestors, to assist us in clearing a path or delivering a message.  I am completely conscious of the fact that I am here to be a guide, a messenger, and that connection/middle-man to Source when you are struggling, confused, or just can’t get a clear answer of your own.
